Meet Our New Board Member — Tony Greene

We are delighted to announce a new addition to our Board of Directors for Connections Education Center — Anthony Greene, or Tony as we call him.

Tony brings a wealth of experience in corporate finance, with an impressive 26-year tenure at General Electric (GE) where he held various financial roles across the globe. Following his distinguished career at GE, he continued his financial and leadership growth through key roles at private equity–owned companies.

Though he has moved 16 times thanks largely to GE’s global rotation strategy, he most recently lived with his wife and three children in Columbus, Ohio, before retiring and relocating to Florida with his wife of 42 years, Sheryl.

In Columbus, Tony served on the board for multiple nonprofits. “When I consider being involved with a nonprofit, I look closely at the people involved even more than the specific cause. If the people are good with good intentions and it’s a worthy cause, that’s a good fit for me,” says Tony. “When I learned about Connections, I researched the school thoroughly and came in for a tour. I spent time volunteering and getting to know the people. And my analysis is that these are exceptional people doing good work, and I’m happy to be part of this.”

As a board member, Tony is eager to help in multiple areas, with a focus on infrastructure. “As Connections grows, the infrastructure requirements get bigger and more complicated. I’ve been through this and can help the school achieve its goals,” Tony adds.

“For me, being a board member is about more than contributing financially. It’s about getting involved and participating. Last spring, my wife and I helped build the garden at Connections, and this Halloween, we brought a trunk to the Trunk or Treat celebration. We’re happy to be part of Connections,” he says.

Tony and Sheryl live in PGA National. He enjoys spending time gardening, playing tennis, cycling and chasing his grandchildren.

Join us in extending a warm welcome to Tony as we look forward to the positive impact his expertise and dedication will bring to our community, students and Board of Directors!
